Authorities in Cagayan Valley warned residents near Dalupiri Island in Calayan and parts of Sta. Ana to stay alert for possible debris from a Chinese rocket launch evening on Thursday, October 23, 2025.

According to an advisory from the Cagayan Provincial Information Office, China’s Long March 5 rocket would be launched from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Hainan between 10:22 p.m. and 11:45 p.m..

The public, especially fishermen, were advised to avoid going to sea in the areas identified that may be affected by falling debris.

Local government units have directed the Philippine Coast Guard to patrol and take necessary safety measures to protect residents.

Authorities also reminded the public not to approach or touch any floating debris linked possibly to the rocket. Instead, they should report it immediately to local officials or the Coast Guard to avoid danger.
