Investigators now have leads on the persons of interest and the possible mastermind in the killing of Niruh Kyle Antatico, a former employee of the National Irrigation Administration-Northern Mindanao (NIA-10).

However, the special investigation task group (SITG) Antatico said it will not disclose details just yet so as not to jeopardize the investigation.

Antatico was shot dead by riding-in-tandem gunmen while driving his car in Barangay Patag on Friday, October 10, 2025.

Authorities continue to look into Antatico’s social media exposés about supposed corruption in NIA projects in Lanao del Sur as a possible motive behind the killing.

“Ang primary na tinututukan natin although we are not focused on that is yung kanyang allegations sa kanyang workplace, we are in touch with the administration of NIA, administrator …. who personally got in touch with us and he express his desire to solve ka agad ito para mawala yung agam-agam ng mga tao sa opisina,” Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) Spokesperson, Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano, said.

Abrahano added that NIA-10 officials have been cooperating with SITG to help establish and trace possible leads and clarify what might have happened before the killing.

The top cop in the region also reminded the public, especially those with knowledge of alleged corruption within the agency, to file proper complaints in court.

“To the courts and prosecute yung kanyang mga allegations that way makikita rin siguro ng DOJ if that is the case na pwede siyang pumasok sa witness protection program and we may have provided the proper security forces para protektahan siya,” Abrahano said.

Abrahano assured the public of the integrity and professionalism of the police in handling the case.

“I’d like to think that the PNP has come a long way you now have a police force that you can trust, you have a police force that is modern at tapos na yung backward ill ways ilang beses na natin napatunayan yan,” Abrahano added.
