Another three teachers in Oton town, Province of Iloilo are under investigation for alleged molestation of students, following a report on a teacher named “Sir Mar” accused of molesting male students ages 13 years old and 14 years old.

“Nagco-conduct kami ng follow-up investigation regarding sa mga screen shots. In case may makuha tayong other victims, magfa-file rin kami sa mga involved na suspects," according to Police SSg. Ma. Elena Doliguez, chief of the Women and Children Protection Desk of Oton.

Two of the teachers are Sir Mar's colleagues at Oton National High School (ONHS), while the other one is a teacher at Oton Central Elementary School.

It was learned that violation to Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act will be filed by the police against “Sir Mar” accused of molesting male high school students.

The Women and Children Protection Desk in Oton are gathering additional documents for the filing of the case at the prosecutor’s office.

To strengthen the case, Doliguez called on other victims to file a report.

“Sa iba pang nabiktima, ini-encourage kayo ng PNP [Philippine National Police] kung maaari pumunta kayo sa amin, magpa-blotter at bigyan natin ng hustisya ang nangyari sa inyo,” Doliguez said.

Further, it was learned that “Sir Mar” has been reassigned at the Department of Education (DepEd) District of Oton while investigation is ongoing.

However, the mother of one of alleged victims said that “Sir Mar” should have been dismissed from the service.

“Minolestya niya, pull-out lang? Ngunit patuloy sa pag-duty?” alias “Maria,” the mother questioned the reassignment.

"Kumbaga, kung ang estudyante hindi pumapasok sa klase, kini-kick out. Ngunit kung guro ang nagmolestya, ano yan? Walang aksyon?" she stressed.

In a statement released by DepEd Division of Iloilo, the said teachers are given 72 hours to explain.

The mayor of Oton has entrusted the investigation on the incident to the police and DepEd.

"Confidential mandate yan, nandyan naman sa WCPD o women’s desk, doon na lang kayo mag-coordinate. Hindi na ako maka…(comment), may internal discipline naman sila," Oton Mayor Sofronio Fusin, Jr. said.

In a press conference initiated by Oton National High School afternoon on Friday, October 24, 2025, the principal assured help to affected individuals especially psychological intervention.

“We will comeback school normally. But rest assured that we will do everything to provide first aid or psychological first aid to our children, sa mga learners,” said Darwin Haro, ONHS principal.
