Police are looking into personal grudge as possible motive in the killing of two men in Cagayan de Oro City.
The victims identified as alias “Lo-eng, a resident of Barangay Lapasan, and alias “Krong-Krong,” a resident of Barangay Kauswagan, were found lifeless after they were shot by unidentified gunmen in Barangay Camaman-an on Friday, October 24, 2025.
Based on investigation, the victims were allegedly renting a house in the area when the attack happened.
“Upon processing sa atong SOCO, nasuta nga naa’y mga gunshot wounds kining mga biktima. Ang usa, naka-sustain og 14 ka gunshot wounds ug ang isa pud, naka-sustain og lima ka gunshot wounds,” Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) Spokesperson, Capt. Emilita Simon, said.
Prior to the incident, witnesses said the suspects reportedly chased the victims before trapping them and shooting them inside a house.
Investigators are looking into all possible angles, including personal grudge, especially since the victims were shot multiple times.
“Ang usa ka biktima, actually, naa na gyud ni siya’y record sa atong police station nga naa na siya’y former conviction involving RA 9165 (Dangerous Drugs Act),” Simon added.
The families of the victims are coordinating with the police. Police also urged those who have knowledge about the incident to come forward.
“Sa pagkakaron, gisubay pa pud ang mga documentary evidence nga pwede makuha sama sa CCTV footage ug lain pud nga mga witnesses nga mohatag gyud sa ilang sinumpaan nga testimonya,” Simon said.
