The top official of the Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) has warned personnel they can face sanctions if they fail to enforce security measures that have been put in place for All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
“This implementation plan entails that if you do not do your job, meron kang kalalagyan. So, there will be administrative sanctions if these provisions are not followed,” said PRO-10 Director, Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano.
Abrahano said around 1,100 police officers will be deployed from October 29 to November 3 to maintain peace and order at cemeteries as residents visit their departed loved ones.
Aside from cemeteries, police officers will also be deployed to other areas expected to draw large crowds, including terminals, parks, malls, among others.
PRO-10 will put up police assistance desks in strategic locations to ensure that the public has easy access to the PNP in case of emergencies.
“We need police assistance desks on our highways, ang ating mga tourist destinations kailangan may mga tourist police tayo dun and police assistance hub at ang pinaka-importante iiwan nila ang mga bahay nila so we will have to watch,” Abrahano added.
Meanwhile, redevelopment of the Cagayan de Oro City Memorial Park, the largest public cemetery in the city, continues. Workers are doubling their efforts to complete the improvements before the expected influx of visitors for the observance.
