A bomb threat led to the suspension of work at the Talisay City Hall in Cebu on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

“We would like to announce that all work and transactions at City Hall are suspended today due to a reported bomb threat,” said Talisay City Mayor Gerald Anthony (Samsam) Gullas in a post.

The work suspension was based on the recommendation of the Talisay City Philippine National Police (PNP).

“For those planning to come to City Hall to transact, please refrain from doing so until we officially announce that it is safe to return,” the mayor added.

Further, Gullas has a message to the perpetrator of the bomb threat.

“On another note, let this serve as a very STERN WARNING: We do not take this matter lightly. Authorities are now tracing the source of the bomb threat, and if this turns out to be a prank, a malicious act, we will file the appropriate legal charges against those responsible,” Gullas warned.

In addition, GMA Super Radyo Cebu reported that Police Lt. Col. Maila Maramag, chief of the Talisay City Police Station, said that the Talisay City Hall has been cleared of any presence of bomb or explosive device.

This after personnel from the Explosives and Ordnance Division and the K-9 Unit conducted a paneling in the entire compound of the City Hall.
