Local vendors in Barangay Guilig, Mangaldan, Pangasinan have started setting up stalls selling flowers, candles, and food around cemeteries ahead of Undas 2025, as local authorities tighten enforcement against unregistered sellers.

More than 200 vendors were granted permission to occupy designated selling areas around the cemeteries. However, barangay officials warned that they would prohibit unauthorized and non-local vendors from selling in those zones strictly.

Barangay Guilig Chairman Alex Razo said all vendors have been assigned specific spots to maintain order during the observance of Undas.

“Kung wala na silang pwesto, wala na. Bawal na sila talaga dito kasi lahat ‘yan may mga pwesto tayong binigay,” Razo said.

Razo said several non-local vendors have been reprimanded since Monday, October 27, for attempting to sell without authorization.

He said the barangay remains firm in keeping the designated areas organized and fair to those who follow proper procedures.

Some local vendors expressed their support for the enforcement.

“Wala naman silang ticket kaya hindi sila pwede magtinda. Kami mayroon,” Carina Garcia, a vendor, said.

“Nag-ticket kami, nagbayad kami kaya hindi pwedeng pumwesto sila,” Ellen Ducusin, another vendor, added.

As of Tuesday, October 28, only about 40 to 50 percent of the authorized vendors have set up.

Authorities expect the number to rise by Wednesday, October 29, as more visitors begin arriving at the cemeteries for the annual observance.
