The state weather bureau has warned the public against false social media posts claiming that two “super typhoons” will hit Luzon and Visayas in November 2025.
In a statement issued on October 28, 2025, the Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (DOST-PAGASA) clarified that such information is unofficial and unverified.
PAGASA said its Tropical Cyclone Threat Potential Forecast dated October 26 shows a medium chance of a tropical cyclone forming outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between October 27 and November 2.
The agency explained that since the forecast covers a two-week period, specific details cannot yet be confirmed.
"We would like to emphasize that since this forecast is still within the two-week range, there remains a high uncertainty in the specific details of the forecast, particularly regarding the exact path and intensity of the potential tropical cyclone," it read.
Based on past patterns, storms that form in November usually move westward and often affect Southern Luzon and the Visayas.
PAGASA urged the public to rely only on its official forecasts and advisories for accurate information and avoid spreading unverified reports online.
For updates, the public may visit PAGASA’s official website or follow its verified social media pages.
