The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Mandaue City will pursue the filing of cases against three employees found to have allegedly stolen government funds, while one defalcated at least P3.3 million.

The LGU will file cases against three dismissed employees of the City Treasurer’s Office.

Mayor Thadeo Jovito (Jonkie) Ouano said that additional documents in relation to the complaints are being prepared by the City Legal Office for the filing of the cases.

"Amendment siguro adto or gi-filter lang ba, but we will file it this week,” Ouano said.

The mayor stated that the city government is serious about the filing of cases against the employees who were seen in a closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage taking money from office collections. One of them placed the money in a bag, as shown in the video.

“Sa katawhan, seryoso ta ani. Di ta mo- allow og ingon ani nga infraction sa City of Mandaue, naa gani nahitabo ana tangtang, J.O. [job order] man to, duha, tangtang dayon,” Ouano added.

Police investigation has delved into the incident captured in the CCTV video.

Earlier, an employee was dismissed for alleged defalcation of government funds worth P3.3 million.
