Police in Pangasinan have raised the alert level and tightened security in cemeteries, terminals, and churches as early visitors begin to flock ahead of Undas.
In Mangaldan, police officers have started monitoring cemeteries to ensure public safety. Duty Officer Police Captain Vicente Abrazaldo said they are prepared fully for the upcoming holiday.
“Naka-prepare na kami. Bukas, full force na kami for deployment, pati ang mga force multiplier natin,” he said.
Authorities have also set up railings along roads in Barangay Guilig to prevent congestion as more people are expected to visit.
Jun Ramos, a resident, said the move helps avoid accidents among motorists.
“Kung hindi kasi naka-separate ‘yan, ‘yung iba binabanggâ talaga nila mga kasalubong nila,” Ramos said.
Provincial Police Director Colonel Arbel Mercullo reminded the public to remain alert and practice safety measures while observing the holiday.
“Kami po ay nanawagan, nagpapalala sa ating mga mamamayan na gunitain ang Undas na maayos at ligtas para sa lahat. Maging alerto po tayo upang sa ganun ay maiwasan nating tayo ay mabiktima,” he said.
The Pangasinan Police Provincial Office also released “Oplan Ligtas Undas” tips, reminding the public to secure their homes before leaving and observe cemetery rules such as avoiding bringing sharp objects, alcoholic drinks, speakers, and gambling paraphernalia.
Starting Thursday, October 30, 2025, vehicles will no longer be allowed to park or enter in front of cemeteries to maintain smooth crowd movement and safety.
