Flower vendors and buyers flocked to Tiongsan-Harrison Road as prices of flowers in Baguio City nearly doubled on Thursday, October 30, 2025, just two days before All Saints’ Day.
Buyers arrived as early as dawn to get their share of blooms for the Undas observance, but supply ran low by midday due to the influx of customers from various provinces and Metro Manila.
Gina Kidsolan, one of the early buyers, said prices increased sharply compared to the previous day.
“Mahal na ngayon, ang taas ng presyo. Wala na kasi halos suplay kasi marami nang umaakyat para mamili,” she said.
Vendors confirmed the sudden spike in demand, saying that some customers opted to go directly to flower farms instead of markets in the city.
Roland Mag-Bag, a local flower seller, said prices have surged overnight.
“Ito 120 [pesos] kahapon, 190 [to] 200 [pesos] na ngayon. Kakaunti na kasi ang bulaklak,” he said.
Flower growers were also surprised by the sudden influx of buyers from outside Baguio.
“Bukas tataas pa ang presyo, marami na kasi umaakyat ngayon na kumukuha ng bulaklak,” Judith Martin, a flower grower, said.
As of 2 p.m. on October 30, a bundle of Malaysian mums cost P200–P350, chrysanthemums P350–P400, and a dozen white anthuriums P250–P600.
A bundle of radus was sold for P200–P250, while assorted flower baskets ranged from P100–P600.
With the steady rush of visitors and limited supply, vendors expect prices to rise further as Undas approaches.
