Prices of flowers in General Santos City have gone up two days before All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

Vendors said the increase in prices is due to the shortage in supply and price increases from their suppliers.

In Barangay Apopong, flower stalls have begun to line the streets outside a private cemetery where several vendors have set up temporary shops to cater to early buyers.

Kanang 50 namu (nga bulak) mahimo na ng 100,” a florist, Rizza Aguilar, said.

Despite the surge in prices, some vendors offer a cheaper alternative – artificial flowers that cost only P50 - when fresh flowers run out.
