More than 3,000 people have visited their departed loved ones at the Cagayan de Oro City Memorial Park in Barangay Camaman-an on Friday, October 31, 2025, a day before the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
The City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office and the police said the more than 3,000 visitors were recorded as of midday.
Aside from those paying respects to their departed loved ones, others also attended burial ceremonies at the cemetery.
CLENRO said eight burial rites were scheduled at the cemetery on Friday as burial activities will be suspended temporarily on November 1 and 2.
“Once nga mahuman nani siya nga mga lubong magre-arrange nata dayun sa atong traffic scheme kay para by tomorrow ready na gyud ta,” CDO City Memorial Park Acting Division Chi1234ef, Engr. Kheven Castilla, said.
Meanwhile, security measures have been put in place at the cemetery.
A single-entry policy is being implemented to inspect the belongings of visitors entering the cemetery.
Authorities reminded the public that bladed weapons, alcoholic beverages, speakers, lighters, and matches are prohibited strictly at the cemetery.
“So far wala man pud (nakita nga nagdala og bawal) dayun maayo man pud mubantay ang atong police sir samot na diri sa entrance,” Castilla added.
CLENRO has also set up an information booth near the entrance to assist visitors locate the graves of their loved ones, especially since redevelopment works, which is now 80 percent complete, have altered the layout of several sections of the cemetery.
