Long lines of returning passengers filled bus terminals in Baguio and Dagupan as travelers headed back to their homes after the Undas break.
Before 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025, crowds already gathered at the Gov. Pack Road terminal in Baguio City, where some waited for hours to catch a ride back to Manila and other provinces.
Shaira Carlos, who was traveling with her family from Las Piñas, said they had no choice but to take the last available bus.
“Wala po kaming choice kundi i-grab yung last na biyahe, which is yung 8 p.m.,” Carlos said.
Terminal officials confirmed the influx of travelers during the long weekend.
“Unang-una, pa-Manila po ‘yan. Talagang lahat po ng bus terminal, puro fully booked na kaya yung mga pasahero, ikot sila sa mga bus terminal,” Rey Quinto, the terminal master, said.
At least seven bus companies operate in the Gov. Pack terminal, contributing to the surge in commuters every peak travel period. Some areas near the terminal experienced light to moderate traffic due to the volume of provincial buses.
In Dagupan City, the same rush was observed on Sunday as passengers queued for buses bound for Manila and Baguio City. The bus terminal management said operations have been continuous since the weekend to accommodate the influx of travelers.
Likha Alpheus Ardiente, one of the passengers, decided to return a day early to avoid the Monday rush.
“Wala po akong pasok today. So, bukas pa yung klase, so I decided na today po,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Dagupan City continued its inspection of bus units and terminals to ensure passenger safety.
“Pero yung mga official natin, nagpasyal pa rin from time to time para i-check yung security ng mga pasahero, hindi lang po itong Undas,” Michael Jade Rosal, Administrative Aide IV of LTO-Dagupan City, said.
