Even after the observance of Undas, some residents in Dagupan City visited their departed loved ones at the Roman Catholic Cemetery on Monday, November 3, 2025.
Among them was Mary Grace Dasig, who came with her husband to light candles at their family’s graves. She shared that work kept them from visiting during the weekend.
“Yung lola ko po tsaka anak ko. Pero yung sa anak ko hindi ko siya natirikan ma’am kasi baha yung sa ano niya kaya sa simbahan na lang kami,” Dasig said.
Some visitors lit candles outside the columbarium, while others wore boots as floodwaters remained in some areas of the cemetery.
Starting Monday, the cemetery resumed its regular operating hours, opening at 8 a.m. and closing at 5 p.m.
Vendors selling candles and flowers were also allowed to stay for an extra day to clear out remaining stocks.
“Kasi marami pang tinda kaya kailangan ubusin. Para lumabas yung puhunan namin,” John Magsano, a vendor, said.
The Poblacion Oeste Barangay Council reminded stall owners to clean up their areas before leaving.
According to Dagupan City Police Director PCol. Orly Pagaduan, this year’s Undas went smoothly.
“So, all in all, matiwasay po yung Undas natin and zero drowning incident po tayo,” he said.
