Churches within the Archdiocese of Cebu are ordered to open doors to individuals seeking shelter during the storm.
Cebu Archbishop Alberto (Abet) Uy has directed priests to open churches within the archdiocese, except those damaged by the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck on September 30, 2025.
“As Archbishop of Cebu, I have directed all priests to open the churches within the archdiocese as shelters for those seeking refuge during the storm. However, this does not include churches that were damaged by the recent earthquake. Please stay safe and keep everyone in your prayers,” Uy said on Monday, November 3, 2025 via "Maymay sa Magbalantay," the Facebook page of the archbishop.
