Huge waves caused two passenger boats to bump into each other at a port in Jolo, Sulu on Monday, November 3, 2025.
According to the Coast Guard Station Western Sulu, a smaller passenger boat was attempting to dock when it was pushed by strong waves and accidentally hit a larger boat that was anchored at the port.
Because of the incident, the wing side and portion of the accommodation area of the larger vessel were damaged. The smaller boat also sustained damage to its upper deck.
No injuries and oil spills were reported.
The two vessels were asked to file a maritime protest before they can resume operations.
It was learned that the Philippine Coast Guard suspended all sea trips in the province on Tuesday due to bad weather conditions brought by Typhoon #TinoPH.
Meanwhile, residents spotted a lunar halo in the night sky – a ring of light surrounding the moon – around 8:30 p.m. in Koronadal City.
State weather bureau PAGASA said it was a natural phenomenon caused by a high volume of moisture and ice crystals due to bad weather conditions.
“Natural phenomenon lang na siya. Daghang moisture ang atong kahanginan, at the same time, ice crystals. Jaymar Artigas, said.
