The CCTV camera installed at the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) building where two security guards were found dead in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, was found missing.

Police said the CCTV’s modem and memory card were also missing.

Investigators also said the firearms issued to the guards could not be found and are believed to have been taken by the suspects.

Authorities also found that the computers inside the office had been doused with gasoline, a steel cabinet was opened, and documents were scattered on the floor.

The guards, 41 and 52 years old, were both residents of the province and were on night duty.

According to the Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office, the victims were riddled with bullets. One of the victims had at least five gunshot wounds in the face, chin, and chest while the other sustained three gunshot wounds in the head.

Investigators believe the guards had been shot hours before their bodies were found.

“Nung naabutan po ng personnel ng BIR, patay na yung dalawa, medyo dry na ang dugo,” Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office Spokesperson, Lt. Gina Magnaye, said.

Recovered from the crime scene were three fired cartridge cases, four fired bullets from a caliber 9mm firearm, and three shotgun ammunition.

Investigation into the incident continues to identify the perpetrators and determine the motive.

GMA Regional TV One Mindanao is reaching out to the victims’ families and BIR officials for a statement, as of this writing.
