Authorities seized alleged smuggled cigarettes worth more than P27 million from a boat off the coast of Ungkaya Pukan, Basilan.
Personnel of the Western Mindanao Naval Command (WMNC) discovered up to 484 master cases, 32 reams, and 129 packs of cigarettes during the operation.
At least seven crew members were arrested after they reportedly failed to present documents for the cargo.
They will face charges for alleged violation of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (RA 10863).
The seized items were turned over to the Bureau of Customs.
