The province of Palawan has been placed under a state of calamity following the heavy damage left by Typhoon #TinoPH, particularly in northern towns.

In a report by JB Juanich on Super Radyo Palawan, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved the declaration during a special session on Thursday, November 6, 2025.

Acting Presiding Officer and 1st District Board Member Anton Alvarez said more than 97,000 people were affected by the typhoon, based on initial data from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) as of 8 a.m. on November 5.

The towns of Coron, Roxas, and Taytay suffered the worst impact, with many residents losing their homes and livelihoods.

Provincial officials said the declaration will allow the immediate release of funds for relief operations, rehabilitation, and other programs to help affected communities recover faster.
