President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. vowed financial assistance to families who lost their houses when Typhoon Tino pummeled Cebu on November 4, 2025.
In a visit in Cebu on Friday, November 7, 2025, he said that families with partially damaged houses will receive P5,000 while families with destroyed houses will get P10,000.
The President said he has directed Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian to make the release of the financial assistance urgent.
The President also pointed out that several residents will not be allowed to return to areas deemed no-build zones.
Earlier, the President ordered an investigation into flood mitigating structures in Cebu.
Data gathered by GMA Integrated News Research from the Sumbong sa Pangulo website showed that Cebu has 414 flood control projects worth P26.7 billion from 2022 to 2025.
