As heavy rains loom over Pangasinan, teachers at Mangaldan National High School have prepared printed modules and recorded lessons to ensure students can continue learning even if classes are suspended due to the approaching #UwanPH.

Dr. Eduardo Castillo, Principal IV of the school, said they are ready to shift learning modes if needed.

“Ang eskwelahan po naman ay nakahanda sa magiging mode of learning delivery natin. Nakahanda ang ating mga kaguruhan sa ibibigay nilang modules sa ating mga estudyante,” he said.

Teachers also distributed modules in advance and provided activities students can do during class suspensions.

“Nagbigay po sila ng modules, tas activity na pwedeng gawin during suspensions... para po hindi nasasayang yung ibang time at magamit po natin siya sa pagsagot po ng ibang activities,” Aldreiz Eiuohan Cendaña, a student, said.

The Mangaldan local government declared an early suspension of classes before noon on Wednesday to keep students safe amid the threat of the storm. Work in government offices was also suspended.

According to PAGASA, Pangasinan is expected to experience heavy rainfall in the coming days under a red rainfall warning.

Dr. Castillo reminded parents to help their children with their lessons while ensuring their safety. He added that once classes resume, teachers will still conduct face-to-face discussions.

“Pero pag ano naman, nag-resume ang klase, nagkakaroon pa rin po ng face-to-face discussion ang ating mga guro dahil mas mabisa pa rin ang face-to-face discussion,” he said.
