President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. visited Liloan, Cebu to check on the impact of intense flooding brought about by Typhoon Tino on November 4, 2025 that claimed the lives of at least 35 individuals.

The President visited Barangay Cotcot, one of severely affected areas, on Friday, November 7, 2025.

He proceeded to Tiltilan Elementary School where residents were waiting.

There were residents who used cardboards to express the kind of help they need such as food and water. A few others wrote their sentiments, citing that it has been four days of waiting for relief assistance to reach their location in the interior portion of Liloan.

Some lost members of their family, and other members of the family swept away by raging floodwaters are currently missing.

The President also went to the evacuation center and met heads of agencies who were attending to the people’s needs.

However, the President did not grant members of Cebu media an interview and left hurriedly.

Meanwhile, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian has assured the ample delivery of food packs to the affected individuals, with distribution already started.

Several residents deal with the burden and discomfort of homelessness after their houses were washed out by severe floods.

As of this writing, a few of the affected residents pitched makeshift tents where their house once stood as the evacuation center is swarmed.
