The number of reported fatalities due to the recent onslaught of Typhoon Tino (international name: Kalmaegi) has risen to 204, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) said on Saturday, November 8, 2025. 

The OCD announced the development in a bulletin issued two days after Typhoon Tino exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on November 6, and left a trail of destruction in the Visayas and Mindanao, according to a GMA News Online report. 

Hard-hit Cebu has the most number of fatalities at 141, missing persons at 57, and injured individuals at 123, based on the OCD bulletin.

Majority of the new deaths were in Negros Oriental, which added 11 reported fatalities to the tally, the report added. 

Missing persons across the country were logged at 109, all of whom were in Cebu, Negros Occidental, and Negros Oriental.

Aside from Cebu, injured individuals were also logged in Negros Occidental, Leyte, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur.

President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. declared on November 6 a state of national calamity due to the impact of Typhoon Tino, the report also said.

The country now braces for yet a potentially more powerful tropical cyclone— Typhoon Uwan (international name: Fung-Wong), which is expected to reach super typhoon category night of November 8, or morning of November 9.

Uwan has recently intensified, with four areas already placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TWCS) No. 2 morning of November 8.
