A 40-year-old woman died after the pickup truck she was riding figured in an accident in Marilog, Davao City.
The victim was traveling with two companions, who also hitched a ride on the pickup as they were heading to Epol Falls, when the accident happened.
Reports said the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash into a canal upon reaching Sitio Lower Kibalan, Barangay Marilog.
Because of the impact, the vehicle overturned and the 40-year-old woman died from severe injuries.
Other passengers of the truck also sustained injuries.
Investigation into the accident continues.
