Power outages swept across Pangasinan after Typhoon #UwanPH toppled trees and electric poles, knocking down power lines and plunging several towns and one city into darkness.

According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), 19 towns and Dagupan City lost electricity beginning evening on Sunday, Novembe 9, 2025.

Some areas experienced outages province-wide, while others reported only select barangays without supply.

In Calasiao, seven barangays were affected: Talibaew, Quesban, Buenlag, Longos, Lumbang, Banaoang, and San Vicente. Barangay officials appealed for immediate restoration.

“Kung maaari ay ayusin agad ‘yung electric sa barangay namin. Kawawa mga tao,” Radito Joves, chairman of Barangay San Vicente, said.

Calasiao falls under the service area of Dagupan Electric Corporation (DECORP), which issued a statement assuring consumers that power restoration is their top priority. The company said it understands the inconvenience caused by the outage and is working to restore electricity as quickly as possible.

The PDRRMO said it is coordinating with electric cooperatives to speed up repairs.

“Nakikipag-coordinate pa rin tayo. Tinatawagan natin ang mga electric cooperatives, companies. Kung ano ‘yung extent at kung kailan nila ma-ri-restore,” Avenix Arenas, Pangasinan Assistant DRRM Officer, said.

Central Pangasinan Electric Cooperative (CENPELCO) said its teams are working nonstop to fix damaged lines and clear debris.

“Ito po ay joint effort ng NGCP at CENPELCO para ma-clear ‘yung mga obstruction na ito para mapailawan na natin ‘yung ating mga main line,” Engr. Rodrigo Corpuz, general manager of CENPELCO, said.

CENPELCO asked for public patience, targeting full restoration in two to three days.

GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon is still seeking comments from other electric cooperatives affected by the widespread outages as of press time.
