A state of calamity has been declared in Butuan City due to the combined effects of Typhoon Tino and Super Typhoon Uwan.
The City Council passed a resolution on Sunday, November 9, 2025, declaring the city under a state of calamity due to the effects of #Tino aggravated by #UwanPH.
Based on assessment by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (CDRRMD), the typhoons caused widespread damage to infrastructure, agriculture, and livelihoods across several barangays in the city.
According to the Butuan City Public Information Office, more than 44,000 residents from 33 barangays were affected by #UwanPH, based on data from the CDRRMD.
The local government said at least 3,615 families or 13,309 were forced to leave their homes. Around 2,435 of them have already received relief goods, as of this writing.
Initial assessment also showed that the agriculture sector suffered damages worth more than P4.5 million, while 21 houses were damaged.
Under a state of calamity, the government is authorized to mobilize resources quickly, protect consumers, and provide immediate assistance to families affected by the calamity.
