The body of a seven-year-old girl in Lambunao, Iloilo stuffed in a sack was found in a comfort room.
The body was found on November 8, 2025 by her grandmother.
The child was still reportedly with pulse when found but was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
Nang binuhat na, wala nang panty at short,” 31-year-old Rea, an aunt, said.
The incident happened in Barangay Tampucao, Lambunao.
The child was left by her father to the care of the grandmother that day. Later, the girl asked permission reportedly from her grandmother to watch television.
However, when the girl failed to return, the grandmother started looking for her until she was found in the comfort room inside a sack.
Police have identified at least five persons of interest, including the girl’s grandfather. The persons of interest underwent a swab test.
Probably, mayroon pa tayong idadagdag,” said Lt. Wendy Ojana, deputy chief of Lambunao Municipal Police Station.
Police await an autopsy report that would determine how the child died. It was not determined yet whether she was r@ped.
Barangay officials have also coordinated with the authorities to help establish the identities of the suspects.
Rochel Lequisa.
