While Bacolod City is still reeling from the impact of Typhoon Tino, strong winds and huge waves struck areas again as Super Typhoon Uwan barreled through several areas in the country.

Tons of garbage and debris scattered along the coastline morning on Monday, November 10, 2025.

Residents express worry at starting all over again after losing their houses due to storms that occurred one after another.

“Ang mga yero, nilipad maliban pa sa mga kahoy na natumba sa mga kabahayan namin. Wala nang natira,” Betty, a resident, said.

Lerma, another resident, and her family has no house to return to. She worries because she actually has nowhere else to go.

“Kung sino man ang maawa sa amin, tulungan niyo naman kami. Ang hirap bumalik,” Lerma said.

In Bacolod City, over 300 families were evacuated, while over 11,000 in Negros Island Region (NIR), according to the Office of Civil Defense NIR.

“Ang effect was minimal although sa southern Negros Occidental may storm surge na na-experience. Ang preemptive evacuation naging effective. Ang level of preparedness natin, nag-improve,” according to Donato Sermeno III, OCD-NIR regional director.

As of this writing, delivery of relief assistance to individuals affected by both tropical cyclones Tino and Uwan are ongoing.
