A 41-year-old tricycle driver was arrested with suspected shabu worth nearly P14 million in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Talisayan, Zamboanga City.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Zamboanga (PDEA-9) identified the suspect as alias “Gamar,” resident of Isabela City, Basilan.

PDEA-9 agents confiscated suspected shabu weighing around two kilos and worth around P13.6 million, a caliber .40 pistol, and drug paraphernalia.

The suspect was tagged as high value target in the illegal drug trade.

He is now detained and will face charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165) and Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act (RA 10591).

Meanwhile, a senior citizen in Davao City was also arrested for his alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade.

The 65-year-old suspect was arrested by virtue of a search warrant issued by a local court.

The suspect was tagged as number three priority target in the region.

Seized from his possession were four sachets of suspected shabu worth more than 625,000 and a 9mm firearm.

He will also face charges for violations of RA 9165 and RA 10591.
