Former Senate President and Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile is confined at a hospital's intensive care unit (ICU) as his health remains guarded, his daughter Katrina said Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
In a message to GMA Integrated News, Katrina confirmed that her father was still in the ICU.
"Dad is in the ICU pa po. He isn't doing too good," she said.
Katrina's statement came shortly after Senator Jinggoy Estrada, citing a "very reliable source," said the elder Enrile was in the ICU and has "slim chances of surviving."
Estrada relayed the development before the Senate's plenary session.
"Mr. President, I have just received a very, very sad information that our former colleague, former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, is currently in the intensive care unit of an undisclosed hospital suffering from pneumonia," Estrada said.
"I heard from a very, very reliable source that he has slim chances of surviving," he added.
The Senate offered a short prayer for Enrile during the session, led by Senator Joel Villanueva.
Enrile is currently 101 years old.
