Five-year-old twin children died after a landslide buried their home in Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya, during the onslaught of Super Typhoon #UwanPH.
Police said the family was asleep when soil and rocks from a nearby mountain collapsed onto their house in Barangay Balangabang.
Their father and neighbors managed to dig the twins out from the debris, but the children were declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
The twins’ parents and another young relative sustained injuries and are now recovering.
Authorities reminded residents in landslide-prone areas to stay alert and evacuate when heavy rains persist.
