A 73-year-old man died after he was struck in the head with a stone by a robber who broke into his house in Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay.
A resident found the victim lying on the floor, covered in blood, inside his house in Purok Orchids around midday on Monday, November 10, 2025.
The man sustained a severe head injury believed to have been caused by a large stone found at the crime scene.
Based on investigation, the suspect allegedly entered the house victim’s house to steal but the victim catching him may have led to a commotion, which led to the suspect hitting the victim with the stone before fleeing the scene.
The victim’s family has yet to issue a statement, as of this writing.
Authorities are investigating the incident to identify the perpetrator.
