After Super Typhoon #UwanPH swept through Pangasinan, Calasiao Comprehensive National High School was left covered in fallen trees and debris, with several buildings sustaining visible damage.
At least 10 trees inside the campus were toppled by strong winds, crushing parts of school structures and scattering branches across the grounds.
“More than 10, masa marami pa. Hindi lang dito, may iba pa sa likod ng paaralan,” Gilbys Diolazo, a rescuer from the Calasiao Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), said.
Since Monday, November 10, 2025, clearing operations have been in full swing. Teams from the MDRRMO, Philippine Coast Guard, and Philippine Army have been working together to remove fallen trees and branches lodged against classrooms and pathways.
Even the sturdy santol tree near the school’s social hall could not withstand the typhoon’s force. Leaves and debris now cover much of the campus, prompting an all-out cleanup by school personnel.
“Actually, puspusan ang paglilinis namin dito. Katuwang ang mga utility at guwardiya. Tumutulong po kami na maglinis po,” Mario Pacheco, security head of Calasiao Comprehensive National High School, said.
Rainwater has also pooled in parts of the school compound, adding to the cleanup challenges.
Classes remain suspended as clearing continues to ensure the campus is safe before students return.
