At least 15 infrastructures were destroyed in Western Visayas by Typhoon Tino’s wrath.
According to data from the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) 6, a total of 15 infrastructures were devastated.
Eight are in the Province of Iloilo, composed of four roads, three flood control projects, and a bridge. Three flood control projects were destroyed in Aklan, two bridges in Antique, and two roads in Guimaras.
“Agad-agaran namang nagresponde ang ating DPWH doon. May remedial measures na kaagad silang ginawa,” said OCD 6 Regional Director Raul Fernandez.
Damage to the said infrastructures reached P56.2 million.
Despite the havoc wreaked by Tropical Cyclones Tino and Uwan in Western Visayas, OCD 6 said that the local government units (LGUs) were observed to have been swift with their actions, and more prepared for emergencies as seen by the quick preemptive evacuation procedures.
One of those who evacuated immediately is the family of Grace Almoquerra, from the coastal area of Barangay Poblacion South in Oton, Iloilo.
In Negros Occidental, 16 LGUs have recorded damage to infrastructure worth approximately P427 million.
“Ang kanilang schools, health station. Meron tayong na-record na mga covered courts at mga concrete pang mga fence sa ilang establishments,” Brylle Larry Sañor, spokesperson of Negros Occidental PDRRMO, said.
Further, Typhoon Tino left behind over P72 million in agricultural losses.
Gagawa naman ng isang rehab and recovery plan,” according to Donato Sermeno III, director of OCD Negros Island Region.
