Typhoon Tino left behind P47 million in agricultural losses to Cebu City.
According to the Cebu City Agriculture Office, the typhoon devastated fields of sweet corn and vegetables in mountain barangays of Sudlon Dos, Lusaran, Paril, Cambinocot, Gubâ, and Buot.
Damage in infrastructure such as a bridge extension to the farm has worsened the situation.
However, City Agriculturist Joey Baclayon said that most of the crops are covered by insurance.
In addition, livestock that perished in the typhoon is worth approximately P400,000.
Affected farmers are expected to receive financial assistance, the city agriculturist said.
According to Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival, affected farmers range from about 90 percent to 95 percent who need urgent help.
