The Provincial Government of Bohol convened a coordination meeting on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 with the Tagbilaran City Government and concerned national agencies to discuss updates on the construction of the Regional Cultural Hub and Hall of Justice at Banat-i Hill in Tagbilaran City.

In a post on Provincial Government of Bohol, Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado led the discussions.

1st District Rep. John Geesnell Yap and Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap joined the meeting who reaffirmed their "continued collaboration to ensure the project proceeds with due regard for community safety, environmental sustainability, and cultural development."

"Although initiated by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) before the current administration, the Provincial Government continues to actively engage in monitoring and coordination, as the property is under provincial ownership," the post reads.

Aumentado underscored the "importance of adopting preventive measures in light of the growing impacts of climate change and environmental degradation."

The Provincial Government of Bohol has assured that it will "continue to hold further consultations and meetings to ensure that the project implementation remains aligned with the best interests of the people and the protection of the environment."

Capitol department heads led by Provincial Administrator Asteria Caberte, representatives from the Bohol Arts and Cultural Heritage (BACH) Council, QB Engineering, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) attended the meeting.

Yap, in her post, said that she has chosen to protect the city.

“Beyond the noise, let’s remember what truly matters: The land that raised us. The city that shelters us. The children who will inherit what we choose to protect today. I will not allow lies to divide us. Ever since, my stand for Tagbilaran has always been clear, walay daghang istorya, buhat kontra saad. As your Mayor, as a mother, and as a fellow Tagbilaranon, I choose to protect our City,” the concluding part of her post reads.
