Vice President Sara Duterte visited areas in Cebu struck by intense flooding, as Typhoon Tino lashed in the Visayas on November 4, 2025.
The Vice President arrived in Cebu on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. She distributed relief assistance to victims of the massive flooding.
Duterte visited first the evacuation center at Liloan Central School for the distribution of relief assistance. She spent time to talk with the evacuees.
She proceeded to visit the wake of a couple in Tiltilon, Liloan town. After which, she went to the evacuation center at Barangay Cotcot to distribute relief goods where evacuees told her of their harrowing experience and their miserable situation post-flooding.
She provided relief assistance to at least three areas in Liloan.
She went to the wake of seven members of a family who perished in the flood in Barangay Tamiao, Compostela town, and handed over financial assistance to the family of the victims worth P15,000 for each of the persons who perished.
Further, she proceeded to Danao City.
She reminded the residents not to be complacent about weather conditions. She said it is best to prepare and take preemptive measures when advised of impending storms.
Moreover, Duterte said that an investigation is appropriate in the LGU-level, aside from the national level, to hold culprits of seveer flooding accountable, based on sentiments of evacuees on government lapses in protecting them from calamities.
