Senator Ronald (Bato) Dela Rosa shares photos of a visit to Father Crescenciano (Ciano) Ubod of the Compostela Parish Church, Cebu from whom he reportedly sought spiritual guidance amid information of the International Criminal Court (ICC) having issued a warrant against him.

“My first personal encounter though I’ve been following him for a while already, with Father Ciano Ubod of Compostela Parish Church, Cebu. Times like these, we need to seek some guidance from our spiritual adviser. Thank you Father Ciano,” he wrote on Facebook.

Fr. Ciano Ubod rose to prominence as an online personality for his striking homilies and spiritual commentaries.

A GMA News Online report said that Dela Rosa was absent during the resumption Tuesday, November 11, 2025 of the plenary session at the Senate.

During the roll call, Senate President Vicente (Tito) Sotto III noted that 20 out of 24 senators were present.

Aside from Dela Rosa, Senators Francis (Chiz) Escudero, Camille Villar, and Juan Miguel Zubiri were absent.

Dela Rosa's absence in the session came after the announcement of Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla over the weekend that the ICC has already issued an arrest warrant against him, the report added.

Both the ICC and the Department of Justice (DOJ), however, have yet to confirm Remulla's claim.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin said Dela Rosa would not undergo the same process as former President Rodrigo Duterte, wherein the Philippine National Police and Philippine authorities cooperated to act on a notice from the Interpol.

The DOJ has emphasized that the Philippines will carry out an arrest warrant against Dela Rosa if the ICC issues it.
