Police in Santa Maria, Bulacan arrested two suspects after they were caught on camera stealing a vault containing P300,000 from a fast food restaurant.
In the CCTV footage released by the Santa Maria Municipal Police Station, a man is seen entering the closed establishment before dragging a vault out of a back room. Three masked accomplices later helped load the vault into a getaway vehicle before speeding away.
Col. Mark Louie Sigua, acting chief of the Santa Maria Police Station, said.
“Napasok po nila ‘yung administration, ‘yung office po mismo kung saan po ‘yung vault and ‘yung manager and accounting. And then naitulak po nila palabas ‘yung vault. Within five minutes or less than five minutes, nakuha na nila ‘yung vault,” Sigua added.
Investigators tracked down the suspects’ hideout in Caloocan City, where two of them were arrested. Police also recovered the vault, which had been dumped along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) near the San Simon Exit after it was emptied.
The two arrested suspects reportedly admitted to the crime, saying they did it out of financial hardship.
Police are still pursuing their two remaining accomplices as of press time.
