A 17-year-old boy died after he got electrocuted by a galvanized roofing sheet that turned out to have been into contact with a live wire.
The steel roofing sheet served as part of the wall in his family’s home in Barangay Salapingao, Dagupan City.
The incident took place early morning on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
According to family members, the boy, Mico Doria, was resting when he leaned against the steel, not knowing that it had been charged electrically because it had come into contact with a live wire.
His aunt, Manylyn Doria, recalled the chaotic moment her son and husband tried to help Mico. They failed to do so because the electrical charge was reportedly strong.
Sumunod ‘yung asawa ko, hinila niya, napaano rin kamay niya,” she said.
Assessment by the Dagupan Electric Corporation (DECORP) revealed that a live wire from a neighbor’s house had come into contact with the galvanized roofing sheet.
Mico was rushed to a hospital nearby but passed away later.
His grandmother, Margarita Doria, mourned the tragic loss of her grandson.
Kawawa ‘yung apo ko,” she said.
Police continue their investigation as of press time.
