Super Typhoon #UwanPH left billions in damages, millions of Filipinos affected, and over a thousand of hectares of crops destroyed with no chance of recovery, while roads, bridges, and power lines remain in disarray across Luzon.

The storm displaced more than 863,000 people, with over 624,000 staying in evacuation centers, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

The typhoon affected 16 regions, 71 provinces, 865 cities and municipalities, and 12,930 barangays.

Authorities reported 26 dead, 47 injured, and 2 missing, although only 1 death has been fully verified and the rest remain under validation as of press time.

About 770 road sections and 75 bridges were damaged, with more than 210 roads and 41 bridges still impassable as of 6 a.m. on November 14, 2025.

Power outages affected 525 cities and municipalities, though roughly 158 have been restored. Water interruptions remain in 20 areas, and 132 cities and towns are still without communication services.

Seaports were also hit, with 192 affected and 172 now operational, leaving 1,067 passengers, 242 rolling cargoes, 46 vessels, and 6 motorbancas still stranded.

Agricultural losses were heavy, affecting 5,824 farmers and fisherfolk.

More than 1,578 hectares of crops were destroyed with no chance of recovery, resulting in about ₱174 million in production losses.

Damage to public infrastructure reached about ₱1.7 billion, with over 1,362 structures reported damaged.

In total, roughly 148,291 homes were damaged and 19,907 destroyed, with total losses estimated at over ₱1.2 billion.

Despite the widespread impact, assistance has reached 370,083 families, totaling around ₱345 million, while nearly 912,699 families still require aid, meaning only about 40% of affected families have received help so far.

Authorities suspended classes in 1,055 cities and municipalities, and 92 local governments declared a state of calamity.

The President also declared a one-year period of national state of calamity to speed up relief and recovery operations.

TIMELINE OF UWAN'S WRATH

Super Typhoon Uwan (international name: Fung-Wong) first entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on the evening of November 7, 2025.

The storm intensified into super typhoon category by 5 a.m. on November 9.

It maintained its strength while life-threatening conditions were being experienced over Bicol Region the entire day.

It made landfall in Dinalungan, Aurora at 9:10 p.m. in the same day.

By November 10, the storm weakened while moving over the coastal waters of La Union and eventually exited the country’s jurisdiction by the early hours of November 11.

It returned briefly in PAR on November 12 near Batanes as a tropical depression and dissipated on November 13.
