More than 200 barangays in La Union remain without electricity days after Super Typhoon #UwanPH battered the province, as of Friday, November 14, 2025, as utility crews continue round-the-clock restoration work.

Electric cooperatives and power companies are repairing damaged lines while the provincial government keeps close coordination with utilities to speed up the return of power.

“Along the highway and sa lahat ng mga institution like schools, hospitals, may mga kuryente na diyan,” Governor Mario Ortega said.

He added that priority facilities already have electricity.

But many residential areas remain in the dark as assessments continue. The La Union PDRRMO reported that over 3,400 houses have been damaged, nearly 200 of them destroyed.

“May mga reported na talagang partial and totally damaged, pero nag-iikot pa rin tayo para makita pa ang pinsala,” David Salamanca, officer-in-charge of the La Union DRRM Office, said.

Initial government estimates place total damage to agriculture and infrastructure at more than ₱800 million, with ₱770 million in infrastructure losses and ₱48 million in agriculture.

Restoration efforts are ongoing as authorities work to reconnect remaining barangays and support families still recovering from the storm’s impact.
