The Davao City Council has approved the city’s annual budget for 2026 amounting to P15.8 billion during its session on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
The 600-page budget was approved on third and final reading following series of committee hearings attended by different offices of the local government.
The 2026 budget is bigger than the current budget of P14.3 billion.
The local government said the increase is attributed to higher allocations from the National Tax Allotment (NTA) and local sources.
The 2026 budget will be sourced from local revenues, share of the NTA, and contributions from economic zones.
The budget allocations are in accordance with the Local Development Investment Program and Annual Implementing Plan of the city.
It will be divided into three main categories: general public services, social services, and economic services.
“There is no unprogrammed, everything is programmed. Even the decimal point is always reviewed by the Committee on Finance and the Local Finance Committee,” Committee on Finance Chairman, Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang, said.
The local government added that the 2026 budget will fund programs, projects, and activities of the city government under the 12 key priority areas, and focuses on providing solutions, addressing basic needs, and introducing new approaches to enhance the efficiency of public service.
