A house in Sitio Marabon, Barangay Bancalaan in Balabac, Palawan was destroyed by an alleged blast from a bong-bong, an improvised explosive illegally used for fishing.
Police said the house was already abandoned and was only being used temporarily by a fisherman and his son who were visiting the area.
The two were asleep when the explosion happened around 3 a.m. on November 15, 2025.
They were unharmed because the blast did not reach the part of the house where they were resting in.
Two houses nearby also sustained minor damage.
Investigators are now looking into the possibility that someone may have thrown the explosive intentionally at the structure, as of press time.
