A 62-year-old man was arrested in Dagupan City after police caught him selling fake government documents during an entrapment operation on Burgos Extension Road.

Authorities said the transaction happened inside the suspect’s own printing shop on Friday, November 14, 2025, where an undercover police officer posed as a client and ordered a fake driver’s license.

The Pangasinan Highway Patrol Team, which led the operation, said they had received multiple complaints about the suspect’s illegal activities. This prompted them to launch a test-buy operation.

The suspect admitted to authorities that he had been making fake driver’s licenses, OR/CRs, BIR permits, and other government documents for two years.

However, investigators believe his operations may have been running longer.

“Malamang nagsisinungaling din siya kasi ang pagkakasabi niya dalawang taon lang daw ‘yung operation niya, pero duda kami kasi may impormasyon kami marami nang nakakakuha sa kaniya ng mga ganito,” PLT. Eduardo Mabutas Jr., Chief Investigation Officer of the Pangasinan Highway Patrol Team, said.

The suspect will face charges for falsification of public documents.

“Falsification of public documents by a private individual. So may kaukulang pagkakakulong din ito, kung hindi ako nagkakamali, anim na taon mahigit at saka may fine,” Mabutas added.

Police reminded the public not to secure government documents through private individuals, as doing so is illegal. They advised residents to process papers only through legitimate government offices.
