A person with disability working as a parking attendant was injured after he was shot by a motorcycle rider on Velez Street, Cagayan de Oro City.
Police said the victim and the suspect figured in a heated argument afternoon on Saturday, November 15, 2025, after the victim confronted the rider for honking repeatedly, which reportedly disturbed people in the area.
A police officer assigned nearby tried to pacify the two before the altercation escalated into a shooting.
“Nasabaan ang mga tao sa palibot kay sige serbato ang suspek mao to gibadlong sa biktima mao na to kay murag naka inom atong suspek then nag tinubagay,” Police Station 1 Commander, Major Byron-John Ratunil, said.
The victim was rushed to the hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound in the waist. He is receiving treatment, as of this writing.
The suspect fled after the incident but was arrested after a few hours.
Authorities seized a caliber .38 and caliber 22 revolvers from the suspect.
“Sa atong pagsikop sa atong suspek duha ka klase nga revolver atong nakuha sa iya. Caliber 38 ug caliber 22,” Ratunil added.
The suspect may face several charges, including alleged illegal possession of firearms.
“Either homicide or murder depende sa element kung mo sulod sa attempted or frustrated,” Ratunil said.
