A woman deemed “queen” of illegal drugs trade in Iloilo fell into the hands of the authorities after months of surveillance.

The Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) arrested the 37-year-old woman, or alias “Cheche,” along with her 34-year-old live-in partner, and her brother in a transaction in Barangay Aldeguer, Sara town, Province of Iloilo evening on November 15, 2025.

The suspects are all residents of Estancia town.

Seized from the suspects are suspected shabu weighing 1.8 kilograms worth over P12 million.

“Particularly ang police poseur buyer natin, nakapagtransakyon ng limang bulto in consideration ng P50,000,” said Major Dadje Delima, head of PDEU.

Alias “Cheche” was imprisoned previously for a case on illegal drugs, but she reportedly was able to post bail. The other two suspects are also identified drug personalities, police said.

Based on information from PDEU, alias “Cheche” holds almost the entire Province of Iloilo, except the First District. She disposes one to two kilos of illegal drugs weekly, according to police monitoring.

She gets allegedly her supply from Metro Manila.

“May binibigyan siyang network nya from Second District to Fifth District. So dyan… but ang kanyang main, pinakamalaki niyang market ay ang Bayan ng Estancia,” Delima added.

However, despite the haul in the north of Iloilo, there is no drug lord or drug group in the province, according to the Iloilo Police Provincial  Office (IPPO).

IPPO underscored that with the help of the vigilance of residence, the proliferation of illegal drugs is under control.

“Makikita natin na hindi nagtatagal ang monitoring natin, ang mga drug personality na nag-e-engage into illegal drugs, mahuhuli natin kaagad,” according to Major Rolando Araño, IPPO spokesperson.

The suspects are now detained at Sara Municipal Police Station and are set to face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

As of this writing, GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas has tried to seek a comment from the suspects.
