Davao City First District Rep. Paolo Duterte has reiterated his call for all government officials to undergo hair follicle drug test after Senator Imee Marcos accused her brother, President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., of using drugs.

During a rally of the Iglesia Ni Cristo at the Quirino Grandstand on November 17, 2025, the senator also alleged that the First Lady and some of the President’s friends were using illegal drugs.

"Batid ko na na nagda-drugs siya. Nalaman ko at ng pamilya, nalaman ng pamilya, seryoso ito," Imee said.

Following the Senator’s accusations, the Davao City lawmaker reiterated his call for all government officials to undergo hair follicle drug test.

Duterte said Filipinos deserve “clarity “and “honesty,” not “excuses,” if what the senator said about her brother is true.

He said his challenge for drug testing is not new and not personal but is meant to promote transparency and integrity in government.

“Bakit? Anong tinatago? Sino ang pinoprotektahan? Kung walang dapat katakutan, dapat walang tumatanggi. Kaya sa harap ng mga pahayag ng mismong kapatid niya, lalo pang lumalakas ang aming panawagan: Magpa-drug test ang lahat ng opisyal ng gobyerno. Walang exempted. Walang special treatment,” Duterte said in a Facebook post.

“Kung malinis ka, patunayan mo. Kung hindi, huwag mong gawing tanga ang bayan,” he added.

In a statement, Rep. Marcos denied his aunt’s accusations.

“It pains me to see how low she has gone to the point that she resorts to a web of lies aimed at destabilizing this government to advance her own political ambitions. To further repeat an accusation against President Bongbong Marcos and the First Lady (and for the first time ever myself) that is not only false, but dangerously irresponsible,” Sandro said in a statement.

“Sa lahat po ng binanggit ni senadora, walang basehan, walang katotohanan, at walang magandang idudulot sa bayan,” he added.

Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro called Imee's allegations a "desperate move."

"This is definitely a desperate move. Ang pinaguusapan sa peace rally ay patungkol sa di umanong korapsyon. Ano ang dahilan ni Senator Imee na ang sariing kapatid ay siraan niya?" Castro said.
