A 53-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping the daughter of his former live-in partner in Iligan City.

According to the Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10), the suspect identified as alias “Turoy” was arrested by virtue of a warrant for three counts of qualified rape. The court did not allow him to post bail.

PRO-10 said that based on records, the suspect, the former live-in partner of the victim’s mother, allegedly abused the victim sexually three times while the mother was away for work.

The first incident reportedly occurred when the victim, who had no class that day, went home and was taken by the suspect into the room where she was allegedly raped. The second incident reportedly happened in January 2025 when the suspect allegedly instructed the victim to go home after a half-day class and allegedly assaulted her again sexually.

Police added that in the last incident, the suspect and the victim’s mother had already separated. However, the suspect entered their new house and allegedly raped the victim again.

PRO-10 said the sexual abuse was reported after the victim confided in a friend, who then informed the girl’s aunt and parents, which led to the filing of a case.

“Let this arrest serve as a reminder that PRO10 will exhaust every lawful means to ensure that offenders who prey on the vulnerable are brought before the courts. Justice for victims, especially minors, remains one of our highest priorities,” PRO-10 Director, Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano, said.
